Add a Human TouchPeople are tired of living automated lives. Build consumer trust and loyalty by making it easy to communicate with a “live” person. Provide an email with a real person’s name in the address, and if you offer phone service, be sure to list the days and hours that someone will be available to take calls. That personal touch lets the consumer know your business cares about them. BrandingEven a small company needs brand recognition. It is something the consumer will remember. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, or expensive, to be effective. Who doesn’t recognize the big red “K” in Special K cereal? And Honda’s “H” is the pride of those driving their cars. Many major companies have converted a single letter of the alphabet into a logo “icon” of recognition. Brands are remembered, even if the business name is forgotten. Never Stop LearningThe Internet is still evolving, and technology is constantly advancing. Stay up to date on new innovations and tweak your website as needed. Check the competition’s websites and note what they are doing correctly and what they are doing wrong. Compare to your own website, and make any necessary changes. ------------ You can have a highly successful online business. It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen if you design it for success. Use these five suggestions and you will be well on your way. Remember, getting people to visit your website is not enough. You must present a quality product or service when they arrive.
